DAY 2 - Zipaquira Salt Cathedral, Andres Carne de Rez
Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, depart for the town of Zipaquirá, located 49 km (30 miles) north of Bogotá, home to the remarkable Salt Cathedral. During the drive, enjoy scenic views of the Bogotá Savannah. The Salt Cathedral is one of Colombia’s most outstanding architectural and artistic achievements. Built 180 meters (590 feet) underground within a former salt mine, the cathedral features a Stations of the Cross, Dome, Choir, and the Narthex complex. Its importance lies in its cultural, religious, and historical value. It is recognized as the First Wonder of Colombia and was a candidate to become one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Morning City Tour of Bogotá Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, depart for Monserrate Hill, ascending via funicular or cable car to the summit, where you will enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Bogotá. Continue to the Gold Museum, which houses the world's largest collection of pre-Hispanic gold artifacts. The tour concludes with a walking tour of Bogotá’s Historic Center, where you’ll visit iconic landmarks such as the Colón Theater, San Carlos Palace, Bolívar Square, and the Primatial Cathedral of Colombia.
